RAJESH KUMAR | PRESIDENT

Rajesh Kumar brings over 25 years of experience in IT consulting, including more than 17 years in senior

leadership roles across India, the United States, Australia, and, for the past 15+ years, Canada. Since

2011, he has proudly called Edmonton home.

Rajesh holds an engineering degree from India, an MBA from the University of Alberta, and a

MicroMasters in Supply Chain Management from MITx. His professional journey has been defined by

complex problem-solving, collaborative leadership, and a commitment to building systems that work for

people.

In 2019, Rajesh’s path shifted in a deeply personal way. As the parent of a child with a disability, he

experienced firsthand the systemic barriers within Alberta’s education system—particularly in accessing

meaningful, inclusive education. What began as advocacy for his daughter quickly grew into a broader

mission to support families facing similar challenges. Since then, Rajesh has become a trusted and

respected parent advocate, working to advance equity, transparency, and inclusion in public education.

In the 2025 election, Rajesh stepped forward as a trustee candidate for the Edmonton Public School

Board, driven by a belief that every child deserves to belong, to be supported, and to thrive. Rajesh has been privileged to contribute to the community through roles such as:

·       Serving on the Board of GRIT (Getting Ready for Inclusion Today), currently known as Kids Included

·       Co-leading the Inclusive Education Committee for the Inclusion Edmonton Region

·       Advocating for fair wages for Educational Assistants

·       Representing parents’ concerns to the school board and the media

·       Directly supporting the families to navigate the challenges and systemic barriers for their children’s inclusive education

Across all of his work—professional, community, and personal—Rajesh is guided by a simple but

powerful belief: when we build systems that include every child, we build a stronger society for all.
